Quickscan Flora & Fauna

Do you have a construction, renovation, demolition, or development plan?

A Quickscan is the first step in ecological research. It provides an early assessment of whether protected species or habitats may occur in your project area and how your activities could affect them. A Quickscan combines desk research (e.g., National Database Flora and Fauna, Natura 2000 maps) with a site visit. This gives a clear first picture of the ecological values in the area and helps determine whether further studies are needed.

Typical questions a Quickscan answers include:

  • Are protected species likely to occur in the project area?
  • What effects might the planned activities have on flora and fauna?
  • Is further research or action necessary before you can proceed?

If no ecological risks are identified, the project can get started. If protected species may be present, we guide you through the follow-up steps, such as species-specific surveys or mitigation measures.
